Safety Car
Appreciate the thoughts and concerns! Luckily I’m on a big hill, and inland enough that the car and Home should be safe. Anyone east of me though looks like they’re getting smacked..

Thanks, bc!
We need to remember our friends in the coastal areas of South Carolina and Virginia, too.
Although it appears the NC coast will get the brunt of the storm these others areas will see a lot of rain, high waters and flooding, also.
Be safe everyone!!

Thanks for the thoughts. I'm more inland (Raleigh) but my parents have a place down near Swansboro. I went down and helped board up the windows, etc. Hung a lot of plywood yesterday; brought home all the important stuff. We'll see how it goes; did all we can. Other than the wind, the rain, and the storm surge it should be a breeze, haha
Here's a picture from yesterday. You'd never guess there was a hurricane just off the coast.
Calm before the storm

I'm just outside Myrtle Beach in Conway, SC.. The worst was yesterday & last night with strong winds and heavy rain, just some lighter rain now and lighter winds. The worst seems to be past. We didn't even lose our electricity, which was a big surprise since we lost it for almost three days during Hurricane Matthew. Haven't been out & about as yet to see if there's been any serious damage near me. But we're thankful we came through unscathed.

One of my former colleagues from work owned a condo unit in North Myrtle Beach, and I rented it from him, several times, in years past. I have a lot of pleasant memories from that area, although I haven't visited there in quite some time. While I'm glad to hear that you survived reasonably well, I sincerely feel for the people further north, who got hit really hard.
