Default Partition is great!

I just installed a trunk partition from corvettepartitions.com. (They used to be Z06Partitions) Four pieces of Velcro (two "hook" pieces on the bottom edge, two stuck on the upper part of the boxes above the wheel wells to snag the capreted wings). Sticks like a champ, stays in place, doesn't fall off, reduces rear noise, makes stereo sound better. Can be removed in about 5 seconds. Great price for a solid piece. A must have accessory. Customer service is a model for the aftermarket industry. Call em and you will see what I mean. :yesnod:

I got mine from Exit28 ... I think they come from the same source. I agree with you. It made a big difference in interior noise.

Hmmm. I just got mine and am having a difficult time installing it. Is it supposed to have a LARGE gap on the top? Is the Velcro supposed to cover the fasteners on the plastic moulding under the window? I can see the light in the trunk from the driver's seat over the top of the partition. Is that what you are experiencing and is that okay with you? I'd love to know your experience fitting this particular unit. Thanks.

I used the Velcro this way: I cut the two "hook" strips in half. I attached one each to the support blocks that are above the wheel wells right where the partition ears butt up against them. Just position the partition and see where the ears make contact. That is where to affix the Velcro hook pieces. Then put the other two pieces on the bottom of the partition about seven inches in from the outside edge on each side. This will hold it to the carpet. Put the partition into place about along the line of your carpet where the line is in front of the trunk "hole" and push the top portion back to the blocks to make contact with the Velcro there. The gapping is normal. It is unavoidable because the partition goes straight across and the window bottom area is curved. When the trunk is closed, there is no light coming in. The gap is at its maximum in the center and decreases as you go out to the sides. Install it this way and I think you will be satisfied. Unless the partition is curved and custom cut for each individual car, there will always be a gap at the top. You just don't see it from the front seat or unless your trunk is open. I think this will be the new recommended way of using the Velcro. Trying to attach it the way they suggested (at the top of the partition) is not nearly as good as the way I outlined. I talked to the manufacturer about this and he agrees. Try it out, drive around with it and you will appreciate it, I am sure.

Dang! Uh Al, do you know the interior of your car is RED?!!!! I chose to have a very subdued Z06. BRIGHT YELLOW, 405 HP, 405 Ft. Tq. and the standard interior..... I was tempted to do the mod red, but my wife finally said no to me. :D :smash: :seeya

Matt

i had the same concerns about the gap up top.

Here is a link that will answer that concern. refer to Step 8. https://www.corvetteforum.com/diy_partition.php

the customer service at ZO6 partitions is AMAZING!!!
he takes the time out to answer all your questions. He even called me (long distance) a few times to verify my order and to discuss the product!!

When i got the partition, i mentioned my concerns about the fit, and he explained to me why. He was more than willing to take it back and send me another, and all shipping expenses paid on his behalf!!!

Excellent customer service..... the thing is, i didnt wanna deal with brokerage fees again, being canadian :nonod:

For the price, you can not go wrong with it. Solid piece, kinda heavy actually. You get a lot for your money compared to other partitions. As for sound reduction, well, i didnt really notice much... but then again, i can thank the BORLA Stingers for that!!! :D  :D

It does however, help with the A/C... that is why i bought it. Doesn't take as long to cool the cabin and doesnt have to work as hard.
