My rear targa latch won't release when the unlatch button is pushed. I have to use a hook tool to pull the handle down. Also the handle when latched is tight against the top and squeaks because of plastic to plastic contact. What am I missing? Thanks

IMO, you have the latch adjusted too tight for it to release smoothly. If you get the rear latch released, you will notice a screw (Allen Head) on the back side of the hook. Loosen that screw, then unscrew the hook a bit to relieve some of the tension when it is latched. Once you have it where you want it, re-tighten the Allen head screw to keep the hook securely in place.
You want it adjusted so the top does not rattle and to where when you push the release button the latch will release with only moderate effort effort. Also, you do realize that when you push the release button, you have to pull down on the handle at the same time to release the latch.
Thanks for the reply. When it's latched the handle is tight against the top. Nothing to pull on. That's why I have to use a hook tool to pull with. It's been this way since I bought the car four years ago.
