I’m thinking of purchasing a 2002 zo6 ! I have not seen it in person yet .... only photos Correct me if I’m wrong ! Shouldn’t the engine have red covers like over the valve covers ? This one does not . Is there a quick way to identify ? If it’s the wrong engine like the lower hp version I won’t make the 200 mile trip to look at it ! Any help would be appreciated .... thanks

I for one don't like the red covers; first preference no covers, black, red. Maybe the existing owner is the same.

Tell him to send you a picture of the Vin.
The 8th digit tells you if it’s a z06.
G=LS1 S=LS6. Here are some samples of two different VIN's.

I think he knows what model the car is, but is concerned that a PO may have dropped in an LS1... I think.

Josh has it nailed. Yes, from the factory the Z06 has red fuel rail covers.
