Default C5 Alarm System

I was just wondering if there was any way to put the alarm system in valet mode. If there is a way let me know.

In addition is there a way to silently arm the the alarm?

Thanks

I believe Under options you can selectively turn off the horn/light flash when you press the lock/unlock buttons.

I did check the manual and saw the alarm section but there is no mention of the valet setting or silent alarming. I will see if there is anything under options.

Thanks

The alarm system is passive. You lock the doors, it is armed. Unlock and its disarmed. There is no audible confirmation or valet option. If the alarm does go off, it is just the horn beeping and lights flashing. If you are getting a chirp or siren sound from your car, that is aftermarket.

If you're getting a horn beep on lock, that is a feature to confirm the car locked and that can be disabled.

To silently arm or disarm you just have to pick your poison on the DIC. I can't recall exactly how, but it's a 30 second change. Check your owner's manual, download one, or look online.

I did check the manual under options and I see the procedure for making it silent arming so I have that info. Thanks for the valet mode info!!
