Non track use on Nitto 555? I hope you live in Florida or something, cause with winter inbound those suckers aren’t gonna last long elsewhere.
Im waiting on delivery of new rims to match up with some Pilot Sport 3 + a/s tires so that I can ditch my square setup and nitto summer tires.
ive heard only good things about Michelin Pilot Sports as a whole.

I have had good luck with my Nittos on my 07Z06 (not that model I am running Invos currently although if they are available in my size they will be on my list next time around)
have you also looked at the Toyo Proxes? They make a great tire, not to $$$, me personally I think the Michelins are overpriced I had a couple sets on my C5 and they just wern't worth the extra $$$...some people here swear by them, the Michelins I had on my Z when it was new were crap about 7K in

Of those two I would choose the Michelins, but another very good tire to consider is the Hankook Ventus V12 EVO. I have them on my C5 and they perform very well and have a high tread wear rating.

Melting Slicks
I've run Michelin Pilot Sports 2 since 2005 on my 2000 Vert. Very good tire, but very expensive. I've bought the rears used twice already, the 305/30/19's are commonly used on Porsche 911, so used ones are available all the time. They're a great tire in warm dry conditions. Forget about cold and wet. I think there is actually a warning on Michelins website about driving on them in cold weather.

Burning Brakes
I am currently running the NT555 G2s and have been for about 4,000 miles. They perform well overall and are wearing nicely. When they're cold, traction is moderate. Once warmed up a bit they can hold their own quite well. If money is no object, I'd recommend the Pilot Sports still. But for a "cheaper" tire, the NT555 G2s are a great choice, in my humble opinion.
