Believe it or not I'm not one of those guys that has an a** load of money. That being said I have numerous and I do mean numerous stone chips on the front of my car. By the time I discovered clear wrap for it was too late. Any suggestions short of a repaint which I cant afford right now on what I can do with these.
I recently had a paint correction done. Before that was completed, the stone chips were touched up. Then the paint correction was completed. After that, PPF was applied. Cant tell they are there now and it looks pretty darn good. I think the PPF actually added some additional gloss to the look of the paint. Usually, its the other way around but it turned out really nice. My 99' FRC is torch red.

You could do as yetman said - get the chips taken care of (either using his method or just get the front repainted) and then add a paint protection film applied. Even just taking a brush and touch-up paint will make it look much better, but depending on how many chips there are, it could be a tedious task and seldom does it look as good as a professional repaint.
The only way I know to avoid stone chips 100% is to park the car in your garage and do not drive it. Not in my DNA! I try to minimize the stone chip damage by keeping a good distance from the car in front of me. On two lane highways, I hug the right side of the lane to minimize the stone rash from on-coming traffic. I am into enjoying my ride, not being paranoid that it has to look like it just came off the assembly line. But that is me. BTW, I used Dr. Color Chip and was very pleased with the results.
This is my C3 after 4 separate trips of about 2500 miles each. (Colorado twice, Maine, and North Carolina) There were about 30 small chips taken out of the front bumper, foremost part of the hood, and the headlight doors.
I used Dr Color Chip twice as per their videos and instructions. Twice because some of the chips were quite deep and required two applications to fill them.
Here is the car after Dr Color Chip. I wish I would have taken photos before the application, but the examples they have on their website of before and after are pretty accurate.
I also did the same treatment to my Pewter C5 after putting 15,000 miles on it on long trips. She came out just as nice. Their color match is superb.
I normally have the front bumpers on all of my vehicles repainted about every 3-4 years, but Dr Color Chip does a fabulous job in the interim.
Good Luck!
