I'm soon in need of new tires for my 2001 C5 Corvette Convertible z51 6-speed Corvette and I also want to replace the Tire Sensors in each wheel when I change my tires as it has been many years since replacement and I am getting the occasional Check Tire Monitor System Warning. I'd like the get "Fresh" Sensors as it is the battery which fails inside and getting a New Fresh OEM set will obviously last longer. My research is showing part number 25773946 for my Corvette. I would like to get the "Genuine GM Tire Pressure Sensors/TPM" but I am open to whatever everyone else is replacing them with. Do the valve stems come in Chrome (as my 5-spoke OEM wheels are chrome). Some valve stems look dull online like they match the painted wheels. Do you transfer you valve stems over or what? I know nothing about these sensors as you can tell. Any advice? Any tips? I want to go ahead and order the right ones and have when I get the new tires. - Thanks in advance for any helpful comments!
Any chrome looking stems are sleeves. If they are plain stainless they can be polished with minor effort with polish and a microfiber towel, even easier if you have a dremel.

Get the OEM sensors is my recommendation. The '01-04 sensors are much cheaper in price so you won't be spending a fortune replacing your current ones.
As far as the nut that secures the sensor to the wheel, yes, you can get them in chrome. I bought mine from West Coast Corvettes and they look great on chrome/high polished wheels.

I’ve replaced my OEM sensors 3 times now, 240,000 miles. I have discount tires replace them when I mount new tires and they program them on the spot so we know they are working. Never had a problem with their updated sensors.
Why not just pay less and get the Rockauto ones. Who knows how long the Ebay ones have been hanging around. Remember the life of the battery is critical.
I have a 2001 C5 base convertible. I am looking at getting (4) of the AC/DELCO part# 25773946 to replace the OEM TPMS that came in the car. Do these have to be programmed before mounting, or will the Data center in the car do everything in the Tire Learn mode? Do you wake them up with magnet or tool? Just let me know
thanks,
Robert McCall

It is pretty easy to reset the TPMS. There are numerous video's on Youtube showing how to do it. it isn't hard. You can use a magnet, but sometimes they don't work (sensor dependent) so most of us buy the 9-dollar tool off Amazon and it works great. I have both a huge magnet and the tool, the tool works best IMO. Most "OEM" AC Delco parts are now made in China and are not necessarily better than say Schraeder aftermarket ones, at least that has been my experience.
If you have a 01-04 you can remove that RPO from the BCM
Why would I want to do that? I had the tire pressure sensor system turned on years ago so I could monitor the tire pressure in my Z06. Now I need new sensors (and new tires), so I need to find a decent price for them as they seemed to have doubled in price since the last time I bought them.
