Never went out for the club scene, just my wife and me enjoying the surrounding Blue Ridge mountains and me just cruising around town from time to time. Sold her with 18K on the clock. It was fun and I'm glad I owned a HD. Strangely enough, I don't really miss riding anymore since owning the Vette-- That is how I prefer to spend my free time on a sunny day now ---hated helmet hair anyway.
There were several reasons why I quit riding, and I don't miss it at all either. One major reason was because there are way too many distracted drivers on the roads these days, making riding more dangerous than ever. Another reason is riding is way too weather dependent. If it's raining, no good, too cold, no good, can't take much stuff with you, uncomfortable for the wife on the back, wife won't go, and on and on. I believe I can have just as much fun, if not more driving a Corvette, I will have heat when it gets cold, I will stay dry if it rains, I can take much more stuff with me, and me and the wife will be inside with seat belts on in the event of an accident...it's really a no brainer...

Got a C4 at 40, I don't think I even owned it for a year. I just got my first C5 at 60. No disrespect meant to C4 owners, but I can't think of a think I don't prefer about the C5.

I've ridden Harleys for years. My brother and I rode our bikes from DC to Alaska and back a couple of years ago. That would be a sweet ride in the vette.

It's cool to see motorcycles and Corvettes go together. Seems like mostly Harleys. They're cool, but I've always been a sport rider, I guess on a bike or in a car for that matter. I try to get both my C5 and Motorcycle out every week. Winter does slow things down a bit. At 68, age hasn't been a problem yet.....

Bought the C3 at age 61. Drove it to 18 states. Got the bug for a better long distance travel car, and bought the C5 too at age 63, and picked it up on my BIRTHDAY!. We have taken the C5 to 24 states so far since last March. It is a great road car, as comfortable and quiet as my BMW 540i. I am now saving my pennies for a C2! Age has nothing to do with it, we all gotta' just get out there and cruise!

Bought my first Corvette at age 61 this fall. It´s a 2000 Dark bowling green convertible with Light oak conv. and interior.
Not good pictures, look black, I know. The car is now in rented garage for winter, so I can´t take any better pictures now.
I´m waiting for summer...

My son drives a C4 as a daily drive nowadays. Here he is at the Nurburgring this summer.

davidwp97- Funny photo of the 60s Vette in the mud. Reminds me of the old photos of a Model T before there were paved roads... LOL

I was only 79 when I got my C5 but plan to get a new one around 85. That's only about 2 more years now!

I sold a '66 convertible and a 1931 Ford Deluxe Roadster and went out and bought a 1998 Vert with 19k miles at age 73 too.. Wish I had done it sooner. Really like the C5...

Bought my first and only Vette at age 68. Seriously regret not having done it sooner.

I think I'll start a geriatric Corvette Club. We'll have timed events, like how long it takes to get in & out the car.
