batteey gauge is all of the sudden not working on 1997 C5. Car is strong and battery is charged. Just not registering on cluster. Any ideas or is there a fuse for just it. Assuming not since rest of cluster works fine.

Good luck. If it continues to give you a problem, make a thread in the C5 Tech section and someone there can possibly assist in troubleshooting the issue.
Your gauge readings are effectively meaningless because if you're reading it while the engine is running then you are reading what the voltage is from the alternator. Additionally current for the readings on your DIC and physical gauge come in through the ignition switch. If the ignition switch is original to the car (twenty plus years old now) it likely has some wear which will affect readings. The only two issues that would immediately affect a gauge or reading are the aforementioned ignition switch or if there is a physical issue with the gauge itself (damaged or worn in some way, like wiring or the board damaged). If it goes out again or has similarly symptoms it has potential to point to an ignition switch on it's way out, but you'd have to really dig into the cluster and ignition switch and see whats going on.
If you are reading correct voltage when measure directly at the battery (needs to read at or above ~12.5) and you're getting a little overcharge on start up (seeing +14 volts is not uncommon but it shouldn't get above 15) then you're probably good.
