Console lid opening

Console lid opening
I know that the console lid should open in two segments. Had no problem with my previous C5 but my 2002 is opening only slightly and won't open that second step. I don' t want to break it. Would WD40 on the opening mechanism help or do I need a new mechanism?

Try the WD-40 - the hinge should work much better.
