I saw 2 stock 03 Cobra cars make about 8 passes at ETown over the past few weeks. I wish I was able to line up next to one of them because I would have killed them. ;)

Stock 03 Cobra's are no match for our cars, modded ones like Optic's can definitely hang with us in a straight line and it will come down to the driver IMO. I can see law suits again especially after the mess they went through in 99!

I saw 2 stock 03 Cobra cars make about 8 passes at ETown over the past few weeks. I wish I was able to line up next to one of them because I would have killed them. ;)
I am sure the story would be different if they were modded.

One car was going 13.4s @ about 111 MPH. The other car was going 13.1s @ about 114 MPH. Both cars were in 50 degree weather with a low DA. I have to admit that the Cobras sound very good. Nice blower whine and a good exhaust note.
I should report that I did see some stock Z06 cars run times that were very similar to the Cobra times, but mine goes faster ;)

first reports indicate that the trouble is a leaking intercooler so they should be back in production soon. Course it seems it's the same freaking problem the lightnings used to have.

Les you just hate the fact that you got your butt kicked by a FORD, by the way for the record the FORD weighed 3835 with me in it and still ran a 12.3 at 117 hot from the Florida road trip. As for the mods let me help you with that again, the cobra has flow masters a k and n filter and 3 more pounds of boost than stock that is it. I’m not selling this thing but it does have its problems like. The damn thing is going in for a clutch and a drive shaft and it doesn’t ideal worth a crap and stalls about 3 times a day when I drive it. I will let you in on another secret I had my girlfriend driving the cobra yesterday and we went from a 50 punch with me driving the Z it took me until 115 to pass her butt, once you have the sled moving it is gone. By the way the cobra will be like our Zo6's all moded this week I have long tube headers and a catless x pipe coming for it. Yes I know it is still a ford but you will never see anything but tail lights unless I miss a gear it that pig.

Butt kicked? I don't think so - you barely edged me out when I accidently ran with tractiom control on, next run I was going by you like you were standing still when you missed that gear.

3-4 syncro on the tranny is definitely weak. I replaced the tranny fluid which seemed to help but it will have to go under the knife sooner or later :(

hey optic, saw your post on corral, check out svtperformance.com and superstallions.com. there is a guy named rob raymer making a 3 inch stainless and will have headers out to match in a week or so. cars with 18lbs of boost are seeing 2/10 going from full bassani to his in the 1/4. my car has a 6lb lower and a 3.10 upper, flip chip diablo, denso plugs, densecharger and a mgw shift handle. will have a dyno next week, will be over 500-500, mabey closer to 500-600

LES you know when you told me the tyranny was sticking in forth, well buddy a few more shifts it will stick in forth. Mine did the same damn thing and when we took it apart it was not a nice sight..
