I know for the most part this subject has been beaten to death. I have been reading every post I can on wheel/tire size. Just put L5 rear fenbders on and what to run these. https://shop.floridaspeedshop.com/OE...7-54985632.htm
I know the rear offset is 59 and I may have to space out just a bit, and the frot offset is 40 or 43. Will my tires stick out to far up front if I run a 275 or a 285?
They're NOT rims, they are Wheels.. Rims get hubcaps or baby moons.
We all know the C5 originally came with wagon WHEELS, not wagon rims.
To expand on the above...
"Many people use term "wheel" as a "rim" meaning the entire metal part to which the tire is mounted because rim and wheel are usually cast or pressed from a single piece of metal. Themaindifference between wheel and rim is that rim is not the wholewheel but only a part ofthe wheel".
"The hub is the center portion of the wheel and is what attaches the wheel to the suspension. The spokes radiate out from the hub and attach to the rim. The rim is the outer part of the wheel that holds the tire. While many people refer to wheels as "rims," this is technically incorrect."
So i guess knewblewkorvette was partially correct when he said "nice rims you picked out" since the rim IS part of the wheel......just sayin...
I just typed in "rim" in a web search and it shows.....well.....rims. It may not be correct but it's what people think of when they hear "rim". When I hear "wheel", I think of a tire and rim together. https://www.bing.com/search?q=rim&fo...=en-US&PC=ASTS
