I believe I had found a thread in here before talking about one of these seat manufacturers being installed in a C5? Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone know more about these seats, how they fit in a C5 and has driven a number of miles or used them in any sort of High Performance driving application? Spirited twisty road drive, auto-x, or actual track day? Extremely interested to hear how comfortable they are and how they hold up to any sort of abuse. THANKS!
I bought a set of Corbeau A4's from a member on here. They are great seats. They are a tight fit though. I would also like a little more lift on the front of the drive bottom. Outside of that they are great.
I have Cypher seats. They are very firm, but have good bolsters for support. Don't race my car, but should be good for performance driving. I like the feel. I'm guessing all aftermarket seats will be a very tight fit in the car. Mine were. I have all cloth seats, which I would think would be more comfortable for racing. There was a wide range of pricing from Cypher. Mine are budget priced. They are set up for racing belts.
I have the Braum seats. They are not a comparison to stock seats. They are significantly better in every way but one...they are manual instead of power. Installation is not for the faint of heart. You will be cutting on your car if you want to retain the reclining feature. The pic below shows the outcome. 2nd pic is fitting the passenger side.
Shifter- Yes, I used their brackets. Here is a PM I sent regarding the fit....
There's a wide variety of seats out there. When I bought my C5 the driver's seat was worn and torn in spots. It also rocked from a bracket issue. The Passenger seat was fine. I also don't like leather seats, so they needed to be replaced. I ordered a set off Ebay, but they were too wide. Fortunately I was able to send them back with shipping covered both directions. In the process I took precise measurements, especially at the bottom rear of where the seats fit. The C5 Corvettes are very narrow between the center console and the door sill. I ordered the Cipher CPA1016 seats. They were still slightly too wide. But I reversed the driver and passenger seats so the recliner adjustment was next to the center console. I removed the recliner adjustment cover and plastic handle cover from the adjuster. It all fit now with zero space left over. But I did not cut or alter anything on the car. This tight fit is the norm for C5s. So whatever seat you get, take measurements and get the narrowest seats you can. My seats were only $399 for the pair. The seat brackets are sold separately. The brackets were made specifically for the C5 and are not electric. Mine lock in solid with no play. The recliner handle is hidden and difficult to get to, but once you have it adjusted where you want it, you don't really use it.
Got Corbeau Evolution X seat in mine. Really comfortable but like the Braum they're manual adjustment (forward and back) without a recline. They fit great.
Shifter- FlyingM is about 5' 7 1/2"...around 155. If size is an issue, you might want to factor that in. I can move the driver's seat back pretty far...too far for me.

When I was researching seats, I wanted to find samples somewhere to actually sit in, but I could never see any samples within a reasonable distance. If there are any dealers in your area, it would be good to check out seats in person. If not, you should ask about return policies. Most of the manufactures will publish dimensions on their seats. That's all you can go by.
I’m 6’0”, 210 lbs. the A-4 “normal” width that fits in the C5 were too small for me. I ordered and installed the Braum S8. They were OK but I didn’t think they were a step up from the stock seats. Definitely not for track use. I pulled them out and returned them. Know that almost any aftermarket seat will require the C6 seat belt swap. It’s A LOT of work to put an aftermarket seat in a C5. After installing the Corbeau FX1, I’d recommend just upgrading the stock seat with new foam and leather covers if needed

i found the same. If you call the manufacturer of any given seat, they usually have a list of dealers around the country and which dealers have which seats on hand. I’d also highly recommend actually sitting in the seat you think you want. But many times there are none nearby.
