I know if you log on to Mecum you can watch live feeds. All you need is an e-mail address to become a member, then you get updates as to when the feeds start. My plan was to go to Mecum to find a Vette, but I lucked out and found a super low mileage C5 near to my home.
It's all a dog and pony show. Run the bid up and catch a fish. At BJ they buy there own **** back. Watch on TV and really easy to see when they have two live bidders, they go nuts. Not to say there won't be a deal or two, but Mecum has his guy JG in the front row to ****** anything worth the money.
I went BJ Las Vegas back in 08 and had a great time. It was fun to see some great cars as well as meet celebrities. If you get a chance to attend I highly recommend it and if you can get floor seats totally worth it.
I've never been to a Mecum auction in person, but I've heard that it's really loud, at least in the part of the building where the auctioneering is done.
