Thanks guys! I'm surprised more C5 owners aren't using this catch can. It's a very high quality billet aluminum part thats fits great. Using a $20 off coupon I paid $140 through Summit Racing. About 60 miles ago I replaced the intake gaskets and thoroughly cleaned the intake manifold so everything was nice and clean. As other members have pointed out the intake manifold accumulates a surprising amount of oil in a short amount of time. Even though my Z only has 23k miles the intake was coated with oil on the inside. Since the intake manifold is so easy to remove I'd recommend removing and cleaning it prior to installing a catch can that way everything is clean from the start.
looks good, what was the price and will it be easy & clean to empty?
I ask because I need one now after doing the LS6 swap
I paid $140 through Summit Racing, but that was with a $20 off coupon, so $160 is the normal price. If you do some searching you can find one for $140-$150. The can is actually pretty big, so it'll hold alot of oil and draining is very easy with the included ball valve and drain tube.
I see the ball valve drain. Is there enough room to get something under it to catch the oil? That certainly looks like something I can handle. looking closer I think I can answer my own question. Do you just put a hose on the end of the drain? Sort of like using a Fujimoto oil drain valve?

Yes, just slip a short piece of hose on the drain tube and empty into a container.
