Default T Mod Box and Shifter

Just a quick review of the T Mod shifter and box that I purchased a couple of months back. I am completely satisfied with the product. I had never had any experience with Corvette shifters, so I was lost as to which shifter was the best. I asked lots of people with of course all kinds of different opinions. I just new I wasn't happy at all with what was in the car. Sloppy, easy to hit the wrong gear and hard to get into reverse. While just looking through the forum one night, I came across some information on Tom's shifter. I read where several people were very please with his product. At pretty much the cost of just a shifter, Tom was selling the box and shifter. He only asked for a $100 core charge or your shifter box. I opted to pay the core charge and return my box after I took it out. Having never done this job before, I was a little apprehensive, but the job was supper easy and only took me a couple hours of actual work time. He offers two options in reduction of throw5% and 20%, as well as two shift heights. I ordered the short shifter with 5% reduction. The shifter is much tighter than the stock shifter, shifts are smoother and easier to hit the gear you want, especially 2-3 and 4-5 shifts. Looking back I think I should have went with the 20% reduction, but not sure if it would have been too stiff. Other that that, I am extremely satisfied with this product. Tom was very helpful throughout the whole process. He explained how the boxes were built and made recommendations from the information I gave him. The only issue I had was delivery was a little slow due to him not having enough boxes on hand to rebuild. Then again that wasn't really an issue, because I could have removed my box at any point and sent it to him. Turn around time would have been very quick I have no doubt and turn around on my core charge refund was only about 4 days from the time I sent it USPS. I would highly recommend this product if you are looking to improve the shifting experience in your C5

Good to hear the product is a definite upgrade over the stock component.
