You are not really going to get to "feel" the exhaust from a You Tube video , because all sound on the internet is compressed. If you are going to buy an exhaust, its best to hear it in person if you can find a local Corvette club with a member who has this exhaust.. the problem with a faith purchase is you usually learn to accept what ever you buy. and ( Defend it to the death ) Its also hard to get real input from owners because every one with an exhaust system loves it.. so they say.. Over my career Ive heard almost every exhaust system out there.. Ive notice everyone loves their exhaust.. I asked a close friend of mine ( New Jersey State Trouper )who had an exhaust system on his C5 that was so drone impaired that I had a headache in a 20 minute ride in his car on the NJ Turnpike, I asked him if he liked that horrible raspy drone on the highway.. his answer was, You learn to live with it. . He did change it out after the abuse I gave him all the time. His wife thanked me. IM not going to tell you what I have because it would fall into that same self serving stereotype…Ill say this, Ive had the same exhaust for 19 years, I could sell them tomorrow for 800 dollars and buy something else , but for me there is no system out there that amps me up as much
I own the 16732 magna flow system. There is some drone at certain rpm's. I purchased them primarily because they were very well priced. I have read that Corsa systems do not drone, but are a little spendy. Good luck!

I'm sure many would love to know since many like myself are considering changing the exhaust. 19 years is a considerable amount of time
I have a Magnaflow system on my car. I don't know which one it is by the model number, but its the typical catback with four outlet pipes. I have it on a '03 Z06 which will sound different than a regular C5. I had it on a C5 coupe originally. I also have a full header and mid x-pipe center section, which makes it sound different again. The headers made it sound much better and lowered the drone quite a bit. Sounds real good with the headers (LG). I don't think listening on youtube will do it justice. You need to find an actual installation.

The important thing here is 19 years. And after 19 years there is no Buyers remorse. Even after 19 years they sound perfect and with zero drone at any RPM range.. My system is guaranteed for life. That's what Corsa offered 19 years ago. They no longer offer a lifetime guarantee. I would buy them again in a heartbeat. They sound even better when I am standing on the street corner with my best friend driving my car on a drive by.. Hold their value.?.. If you can find a set of Corsa sport or Indy Pace car used you will see they get 800 dollars used even after 19 years.

I can't comment regarding any Magnaflow however I will chime in for Corsa. I decided to go with the Corsa Extreme (with 4" tips). For me, it was a balance of throaty sound at idle and cruising speed. I wanted a little more under acceleration, yet wanted little to no drone. I can't stand drone. I hate the feeling/pressure in my ears and knew I wouldn't tolerate it for any period of time. Price was certainly a factor as I wasn't comfortable dropping that much money. I kept my eyes open for a nice used system. They seem to be few and far between, but I was willing to wait. I also considered other Corsa systems, but I was pretty set on the Extreme for the "extra" at WOT. Waiting finally paid off when a set finally came up for sale, fairly local. I was able to get it for about 2/3's the price of new, and this one only had about 50 miles on it! Preference will vary based on person. As mentioned, it'll be hard to get a true sound via a video clip. Suggestions are to go to local shows and meets and talk to other Vette owners. Any that have aftermarket exhaust are typically happy to let you hear it. Different additions will also have an impact on the sound (Cam, headers, X pipe) so keep that in mind too. I have/had a short video clip of when it was installed..... trying to find it
Hi Rat, if you are located in Canada, you can check out some of our distributors like Hottexhaust, Canadian catalytic and Keystone! If we can answer any questions regarding our 16732 system, please do not hesitate to give us a call at 1-800-990-0905! We can be reached anytime during the week from 7am-5pm PST.
I run the B&B PRTs, the second thing I did to my car, 20 some years ago. Yes, I like them, but better yet. I get a lot of compliments on the sound. From sitting still, too people telling me at toll booths how good my pipes sound on the highway. So that’s how I grade my exhaust. Unsolicited approval.
Slightly off topic, but I've a chance to snag a nice set of stock Z06 axle back mufflers for $300. Just not sure how much the exhaust sound would improve my stock '99 manual vert or if it's worth the $$$, time & trouble

You wont hear any difference, however they are lighter. Many with a modified engine , cam headers etc could not have a better system. My question is does your 99 still have the original exhaust with the small black tips? Are you the original owner? That system is usually the first thing that goes on a 97, 98 , and 99.

Thanks for that info. Not the original owner but mufflers are stock and chrome tips have been added. Guess I'll save for a Corsa system.
