Upsizing vs Downsizing Tires on Z06

Just an FYI ... the correct sizes for Z06 tires/wheels are 265/40R17 on 17x9.5 wheels in front and 295/35R18 on 18x10.5 wheels for the rear. So you’d either be upsizing to 275 or downsizing to 255 in front compared to the OEM 265. That’s what I’m trying to figure out what the best option is and still not mess up the AH and TC.

i'll let you know when i finally get my car out of the shop & can get the tires mounted...
but i have no reason to expect problems. people run tires taller/wider than these all the time without modification. the only thing i expect is that since my ride height's lowered about 1" on the stock bolts to close the current massive fender gap, i'll just have to raise it back up.
yep, my FRC has factory rear 18x9.5 on the front & repro 18x10.5 in the back (same widths as z06 wheels), and my current tires are the same overall z06 heights (the front reduces sidewall to account for extra wheel diameter [265/35-18 vs 265/40-17]). the new set goes back to base model front tire height (25.6) & just over stock rear height (27.3 vs 26.7).

Steve -- where do you see this manufacturer recommendation? I'm really torn because the 275 shows to have the front and rear difference in height as being 0.47" as opposed to the 0.5" required for TC to not act up. That said, I'd rather not step down to 255s as, well, it's a downgrade. Wish they hadn't discontinued or made this such an odd size...

Here are the last pics I have with Continental Extreme Contact Sports, 275/F and 295/R.

haha... you'll get more variance than .03" with day -> night temperature changes!
people run everything from a square setup to 1" taller rears, and the car don't freak out.
