Default Tire changing

I've been commuting around 75m daily on Mich SS's for years and then the Mich RS's when they were discontinued (motorcycle). Generally I just changed the front and rear tire as needed.
I haven't had the vette for long. First car in almost 10 years. Is it safe to apply that same logic to the vette since it has the staggered setup? Just change out fronts tires or rear tires whenever they need replacing? I just want to make sure it's cool to constantly change them out as a pair, not a set.

The current thinking on tire replacement is to replace tires that are more than 5-6 years old regardless of tread remaining. Look at the date code on the tire sidewall to find out how old the tires are. If the current tires show signs of cracking on the sidewall or the tread gaps then it would be a good idea to replace them as soon as possible.

Most tire stores will only sell tires as a pair at a minimum. If possible try to get the same brand and model tire. Some tires brands will have different compounds and they will react differently to how you drive, the air temps, pavement temps and loads. Most high performance tires don't work that well on cold surfaces or icy roads.

With a 75 mile daily commute (assuming round trip), that's close to 20,000 miles a year. You'll wear out the tires long before hitting the 5 year mark. Most high performance summer tires are good to 30-50k miles, while high performance all season tires are good to 40k-70k miles.

I don't see anything wrong with replacing tires as a pair rather than all four at a time. The only consideration is that tire stores often run discounts on four tires at a time, and you're not as likely to find discounts on two tires at a time.
