I am doing a winter build here in Rhode Island and my C5 is going through some major upgrades. My car has 29K on it, but despite it having low miles it's a 20 year old car and I want to replace the motor mounts and rear diff mount while I am installing headers and new suspension.
What company makes a good set of motor mounts of rear diff mount that is going to out perform the OEM components without rattling my interior to death? I see some rear diff mounts come with additional bracing/ brackets, I would be looking at that style mount set up.
I have solid motor and trans mount in my cammed high compression VW and I can feel just about every RPM in the cabin while driving! I am not looking for the same experience from my corvette.
Hinson or Afe/Pfadt. Both are urethane and expensive. The Hisnon design would probably be the most forgiving, but your still going to have more vibration than the factory mounts. Pfadt makes the unique trans mount with side pads to reduce twist.

I went with PFADT for motor and transaxle. Big difference. The transaxle brace deletes the damper (which saves ~10lbs) but now my rear axle whines. Changed the fluid, still whiney. Small price to pay, though. Power transfer is so much more direct.

Could you please educate me a little on the dampener you've removed....do you really think it is 10 lbs? I've never even noticed it before. Is it on both manual and automatic cars? Thanks.
I have Hinson’s motor and transmission mounts installed. There is a slight increase in vibrations, but not bad at all. Hinson’s mounts are a great compromise between a solid mount and the OEM mounts. I’d say right in the middle on a scale between the two. Little pricey though.

I prefer the pfadt design as well... I have had their motor mounts on for about 8 years and had their diff mount as well, I did a tr6060 swap and couldn't use it anymore so that's the only reason it came off
I run the Hinson's engine and diff, there is a guy on facebook c5 modified group Rick Wells building a phadt clone diff mount for $275 and these look really nice if I had to do it over again...https://amtmotorsport.com/collection...n-motor-mounts
I have the Hinson motor and trans mounts. Slightly more vibration but nothing too bad. The trans mount has all but eliminated wheel hop on a mild NA build.

Wondering if you still have the Hinson setup and if over the past year or so if you still feel the same way about the "wheel hope/drivetrain movement" felt under hard acceleration. Also wondering if the added NHV (noise harshness and vibration) is still very mild - or if it has grown on you?
That looks like a nice piece. I hope to hear a report from you when you get a chance to test it out.
The thing that makes me wonder A LOT is that when I look at the stock diff mount, clearly GM did not intend it to take any twisting left/right of the engine/torque tube/tranny/diff assembly. It is clear to me GM left that to the engine mounts - engine mounts that are also "fluffy" enough to greatly reduce NHV.
Question is why didn't they want the diff mount to participate in keeping the driveline where it needs to be (with some flex of course).. Strictly noise/harshness/vibration or were they worried about the weak spot between the diff and tranny that often breaks...I wish I could ask the lead C5 engineer this question!!!
I've got the HPI one with a 3.42 and 3200 converter and I like it a lot. Only slightly more vibrations, but no big deal. Seemed to tighten everything up just enough.
