Maybe time to recover with new skins?? While at it, maybe swap the passenger side bladders into the driver side seat.
They are extremely comfortable seats. IDK if my seat bladders even work.
For your back pain, sorry btw, I know how that is. If you don't want to mess with the bladders, when the seat covers are off, you could get some foam from a fabric store and some spray on contact cement and shore up they lumbar areas.

I never found the C5 sport seats to be uncomfortable, but everyone is different and my lumbar supports worked fine. If you want to fix the lumbar supports, you can do so by getting some blood pressure cuffs and adapting them to your seats. Here is a file that shows the process:
The sports seats are the best I have ever in on any car and I have a really bad back. Other cars can only drive five hours. The vette, 12 hours and feeling good. Just sayin
The Sport seats in my C5 were a little uncomfortable until I realized the lower lumbar and side bolsters' weren't inflating. Contacted Lyle at C+S Corvette.
All foam in all seats will wear out eventually. Order new foam and the difference will be huge!
Google "c5 seat foam" lots of good info
Just replaced my driver side seat foam and found all my bladders had dry rotted and cracked. Still did the foam and put the seat back in. Seat is extremely comfortable just like when the car was new...just after replacing only the foam. I only drive the car a handful of times a year these days so I'm not worried about replacing the bladders but bladders are super easy to do.
