Default Totaled C5 Corvette Value??

Just tried posting this didnt get any notifications or emails saying it went threw so I'm trying again. Just last week I totaled my C5 Corvette and set the airbags off, not I'm contemplating selling it as a whole or parting it out... what does a totaled c5 vette go for? 2000 6 speed 120k miles still runs and drives. Any opinions on what I should be looking to get, any info helps!

Moved over to C5 General for comments on an value for your car.

When you decide what you may want to ask for your car, re-post your ad back in the C5 Corvettes for Sale Section.

Best bet is to part it out.

If you have the time and patience to remove/package/ship components and deal with the many different people, you'll definitely net more return if you part it out. It just might take 6 months to sell all the valuable components. Once you have the car mostly stripped, you'll have to find a means to scrap the remainder.

I agree with TRex... I'd take the time to fix it. It doesn't look all that bad and wouldn't be terribly expensive if you do it yourself

If you do part it out I’d like the EBCM if there are no codes on it.

According to Corvette DNA:

2000 - 6-spd - over 75k miles in "PROJECT" condition is worth $6400. Now if you add that its wrecked (and the very high miles) - Im guessing $5000 is about all anyone would offer. The problem is that your car in EXCELLENT condition is worth $10,800 (that's with no accident history)...figure you would need to subtract about 20% off of that since CarFax will show a salvage title. So unless the repairs are under $3000 (+/-) - you would be losing money/value by repairing it.

Did you get an estimate as to how much it would cost to fully repair? Im guessing that would be the first question, from anyone that might possibly buy that car. I would have an estimate in hand, for when that question is asked.

The EBCM is the most valuable part in the car (if it works right) a non active handling could easily bring $1500. Fenders bring about $350. etc. Parting it would would bring in more than anything else. My buddy buys wrecks similar to yours, for about $6000 often.

I have purchased a few vehicles that my insurance company totaled and the price was about 18% of the actual cash value of the vehicle before the accident. You can recover much more money if you part it out. I suspect the wreck might bring about $2,000.

Part it out if you have the time. I would be interested in the cluster and driver window/door lock switch if not cracked.

A 2000 6 speed 120k miles in that condition is worth $10K? - if you placed that ad in my area, you would get zero interest.

$10K ???? Really???? Maybe if it wasn't wrecked. I'd give a max of $2K for it. I would guess it will cost $5-$7K to fix it. It would be a $7-$9K car with a 120K miles and a salvaged title.
