Default Making the side window drop 1/4" when opening door

Has anybody figured out a way to make the side windows drop a 1/4" when opening the door and raise back up when the door is shut like on newer cars? On my convertible it catches the top in the corner and this feature would eliminate that and save the weather strip. I read on the window valet, but it looks like it lowers them completely. Many cars now have this small drop feature. Thanks

I don't own a vert but IIRC there is an adjustment procedure for the top that needs to be made which will eliminate the problem you're experiencing.

Like 3sAcrowd said. There are 2 adjustment points on the convert top that will stop that top corner of the window from catching the corner of the top. When I bought my convert I had to adjust mine. There are instructions on this forum somewhere on how to do it. .

Default top adjust

Thanks I will look for the procedure to adjust the top. I looked on the window valet website and the C6 can do this. We might be out of luck on a 5

Yeah, I too thought of the Window Valet but in reading the description of the product, it does not appear to do what you want it to do.

There are adjustments you can make from multiple approaches. You can adjust the window height, as well as the window tip-in; both can help here. And, as mentioned earlier, there are adjustments you can make to the top as well. Most likely your window is not catching the top by much, so adjusting each of these parameters by just a very minor amount will solve your problem. I know — I had the same issue...with a brand-new top. Research it, and consult with the service manual. Best wishes!

It's called "indexing". There is no need for the C5 to index it's windows because it has a "blow out clip" on the roof. If the window is having sealing issues ensure the clips are still in place (I've noticed convertibles tend to 'lose' their clips, likely through top replacements). You can also try the adjustments that have been mentioned. There are a few you can do with the door card in place, and once the door card is removed it's fairly easy to adjust any part of the window.
