Recently got a 2004 convertible. Did not have a cigarette lighter in it...doing some other work on the HVAC so I removed the center console and saw the lighter element was not connected to anything. I want to get it back fixed correctly...but not sure what or how the element connects to. I have purchased new OEM lighter, element and housing...now what?

There should be a loose wire with a connector attached that affixes to the back of the cig lighter body. Perhaps someone that has some pics of the area in question or maybe can post up the instructions from the factory service manual.
This is what is in there...it just did not look like the element / housing would connect properly...maybe it will. It does not look like the photo of the stock connector that was shared. Thank you for the input and advice!

Yep, the gray connector with the orange and black wires is the stock connector. You have to clip one side on and then try to keep it from spinning while you clip the other side. I pull passenger compartment fuse #7 when messing with the connector.
The black thing in post #3 looks like a piece of generic aftermarket junk.
