Your last one bought in 2016 only lasted you 2 years????? The4y have a 3 year 100% no cost replacement warranty. So you went and got another one right?
Ok I use to work for a company that makes over 80% of the world battery testers. Every car maker uses them. We had a great battery team there that used every battery ever made. When I asked them what is the best battery that I should get They all replied that only 3 companies make batteries. Their advice was to get the cheapest battery with the best warranty. Most of them all had batteries from Walmart. Even though they had every battery available to them. These guys have been dealing with batteries for many years so I think they know what there doing. So I have used Walmart batteries in all my cars with no problems at all. Just my opinion.
Over my life, there has been a dramatic change in battery life. for many years, you bought a lead acid battery, you chose a 24 month or a 36 month, and a top quality battery was 4 years. there batteries where 50 to 100 dollars.. if you bought a 24 month battery you would be lucky to get 24 months. Same with the 36 or 48 month. Sears came out with the Die hard, it was the best quality battery at the time. These batteries all had a one year replacement warrantee then pro rated for its advertised life.
If you bought the best battery pre- 1980 you were thrilled to get 4 years out of it. My experience with these Optima batteries over the least 20 years has revealed a 36 month warrantee, you could see an actual double or triple the life. Its been my experience, Nowhere is it assumed a 3 year battery should last more than 3 years. When I did the research on these batteries I found many people getting double the advertised life. So I bought the first one. Getting 8 years without issue pushed me to buy another. that second one gave me similar life. I replaced the oem in two of our family car with a red top. This is just my experience, not to be confused with yours.

Walmart Batteries are made by Johnson-Controls. Optima Batteries are also made by Johnson-Controls. However, you need to use a specific AGM battery in your C5. Walmart sells batteries for 49 dollars, Walmart also sells Optima batteries. I could not find a Walmart Brand ( Everstart ) AGM Battery for my C5 at Walmart. Like most primary manufacturers, they make all levels of quality, all types of warrantee, and price. Walmart sells lots of lead acid batteries for your C5, But I would not put a liquid lead acid cell battery in my car. An AGM will give that extra security of a glass impregnated acid Mat cell. Walmart makes batteries that are prorated from the day of purchase. So while Johnson Controls makes most of the batteries out there. Good luck finding an AGM 1000 CA 3 year full replacement Walmart battery. I do agree that if you can find Any AGM 1000 CA 3 year free replacement battery Cheaper than another, you should buy it.
I am not afraid of Walmart batteries or cheap batteries depending on what vehicle I am using them on.. I had a wet battery crack and leak all over my Titan pickup. So no wet batteries in my C5 at any cost.
I changed an Optima Red Top after 4 years but just as a precautionary measure. It was working perfectly. I replaced it with another Red Top and used my old one as a 12v supply. Both batteries are on Ctek chargers.
