My worst fear. I live in what is considered a 'lower middle class' development. My car sits outside under a cover. Every morning when I wake up I look out the window to see if it's still there. It's the world we live in. Sorry about your top. Hopefully that was the extent of the damage.

Man, that really sucks---I had the same thing happen to a Skylark convertible way back when. Made me mad as hell. I'm fortunate enough to have mine parked next to my house under a carport with a SUV blocking it's view, but I still wanted some kind of deterrent to someone snooping around it so I put one of these up and set the alarm in a window close enough so any perp could hear it as well. Even scares the neighborhood cats away. While cameras are a good deterrent, if the punk is wearing a hoody/mask it isn't going to do much good. I prefer to be pro-active. Good luck with the repair.

That Sucks man, hopefully you have a good upholstery/vert shop near you that can do the repair. If you have nice stuff - especially cars - seems like eventually you will run into a jealous A-hole @ some point in time. I had a nice red '04 GTO 12 years or so ago went into a 711 came out to find just the tail light smashed like some country sheriff would do in a movie....luckily just needed to find a new one on ebay.
Just the other day I was walking back to my new truck (Raptor) which I had just washed to get all the road salt off & someone spit a big ol loogie on the driver door.....why? Who knows. Wiped it w/ a napkin poured a bottle of water down the door & went on my way

I have had my Corvette vandalized in the past (keyed usually) Do not become complacent, be pro active. These A******S can come back for another round and cut your roof again. Get a security camera, post that one is active. These cameras are so reasonable priced now and have motion activated features that notify you on your smart phone. Be prepared, please.
