Default FRC or Vert

What would you do?
99 red FRC with 70k
or
04 gray Vert m6 with 87k

Both exact same price.
FRC has less miles and slightly nicer condition wise and better color
Vert is 5 years newer and value wise is more and topless would be nice.
If prices were different it would be easier.

Forget value. If anything is going to go up in value down the road, it'll probably be the FRC due to rarity.

In the end it comes down to this for me.

For the track, FRC all the way.

For cruising, nothing beats a 'vert.

Performance-wise. They will actually be about the same.

I do plan on putting some miles on either one. I’ve had ultra low mile cars I didn’t want to drive too much but for the pricing of these I want to use them a few days per week even in weather

Drive them both. Whichever you enjoy more buy. These are not rare cars so don't wory about resale value, neither will be worth a lot. I love the frc style but verts are loads of fun.

I’d pick the one I felt was in the best condition and spoke to me the most.

How the way i see buying a use car and now the C5's are old. Expect to put money into it. It's a joke of a price to replace the weatherstripping on the vert so you may as well buy a brand new top. You could always get a hardtop to add on the vert "Used" Which look do you like? Honestly i like the look of the vert since it similar to the Zo6 top AKA "Smaller Top' the FRC and Targa style looks very 90's with the design of the hatch.

FRC all the way. A vert always seemed to me that it was designed for a woman. I blame the Corvette Barbie my sister had growing up.

I guess I'm a girly man. A real ugly one too!
I love my 03 vert.
Did your sister kick your butt when you were little? Could explain your hatred for verts.

To the OP, pick the one you like!

Neither, just get a coupe and take the roof panels off in good weather, Verts require more care for the top and need to be garaged and the tops are not cheap to replace.Just my opinion.

Without a doubt the vert is the way to go. The early FRC are rare BECAUSE NO ONE WANTED TO BUY THEM, they are fugly! Then to seal the deal remember the parts availability problems associated with the early C5's. Good luck!

I think the FRC will go up in value more, I was going to get one but glad I bought a VERT. If you can look in FL, alot of these cars have been senior owned since new and in my opinion that is a major plus. You can get them to where you don't have to put any money in them because they have been babied since day one....

Indiana is not FL so a HT might have some advantages, I would not let the 87 miles deter you but from my reading the 04 is a much better car.

That is wrong, the done up FRC is the best looking C5 IMO and modern style Vette. Look at Neil B's FRC he built, that is a sweet modern era VETTE! I prefer the look over a Z because they did not cut the holes in the side.

What's your intended purpose? Everybody has their own favorite, as well as whipping boy. In the end, it's you taking the One Lap of America or showing up the BStreet boys at the local AX, or just enjoying the breeze.

My $.02. You couldn't go wrong too badly with either one.

You decide.

That parts availability is major.

Can the parts availabiltiy be worked around and updated with newer parts on the pre 2001 ? I would have never bought a 99 if not for the service records and a great price..

Hopefully I will not be sorry in years to come....

If you plan on doing any type of tracking get the frc otherwise the vert. And why does a vert need to be garaged. Just take care of the top. Mines an 03 and looks like new as does the rest of the car. Kept outside. Get the one that speaks the loudest to you and enjoy it.

Because the elements of harsh weather are not that good for a fabric roof,so the top will last longer and look better. I have garages so why not use them.
