Default Axle back exhaust

Looking for a system that is going to add some nice sound but not too loud. Dont want a drone in the cabin. What do you all have? And what would you recommend?

Lots of people recommend either the Corsa Extremes, or the Billy Boat PRTs. They say neither has a drone. You'll just have to listen to as many systems as you can to find the sound you like...

I put a Z06 titanium catback on my '03. Most probably would like it because it's not "blow you away" loud but when I step on the gas it definitely barks. I also put an "X" pipe on it. It sounds more like an exotic now vs classic American muscle - but I'm fine with that. For a more classic sound - go with an "H" pipe. Mine also has a Honker air intake on it (was there when I bought the car) so I had it tuned as well which made a noticeable change in how the car feels. Had the stupid 1-4 shift and 2mph fuel shut off programmed out at the same time. Love it now.

But, exhausts are a "personal" thing. What one person loves I may hate, etc. Youtube has quite a few videos with sound of different systems which may help.

Check out what Corsa has to offer...You will have no drone with any of their systems, all stainless steel, lasts the life of the car

Lunaticfringe007, I'm in the same market, I have been looking seriously at the Corsa Xtreme axleback's. They have them for under $2k on Amazon. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...KIKX0DER&psc=1
I understand that the factory H-pipes will make them burble like an old muscle car, and that's okay by me. My concern is finding a shop that will install them, (and coming up with the cash, of course!)

I saw a thread where someone returned, or sold, a Borla axle back #11815 because it was too quiet. "Great I said." That's the one I want - not to loud. Well - all those videos and comments don't really add up to the real thing. You better go hear in person what it sounds like. My Borla S-Type ll #11815 are loud...and burble in most gears when you let off the gas. And I do hear some drone. Just my opinion. But really and truly you ought to hear what you want in person near and in the car. I will add 'tho, I like what I have - guess I'm used to it. If I get on it you know I'm around.

I just had a Corsa Sport system installed last week and couldn’t be happier. I felt the extreme was too loud for my personal taste (and I plan on adding Lt’s later). Sport system looks fantastic, has a nice sporty sound, and still definitely turns heads. Most importantly for me it has absolutely zero drone.

I've had my Corsa Indy Pace car ( now called Sport ) system on my car for 19 years. I still get a thrill every time I start my car, and hear it go through the gears. My system is guaranteed for the life of my car.. ( they dont offer than any more ) it's all stainless steel, and guaranteed to have no Drone at any rpm level. It's a great step up from stock without being obnoxious. They do offer different tips Pro tips are very popular

Corsa Indy Pace Car with long tubes, pup cats and "X" pipe. Scared my buddy's granddaughter right out of the garage -- loud or quiet depend on the listener's perspective.

Billy Boat PRT is an amazing example of relatively calm at idle and loud at WOT. It does use a straight pipe design so it sounds great when you step on it. Has a purge chamber to calm the sound at idle. But it sounds extremely good at idle and I get compliments just sitting around in a parking lot sometimes.

This is what I see, as a Corvette Factory design engineer and my interaction with Corsa engineers when developing the system for the 1998 Indy Pace car.. This DNA system is 362 dollars. you could buy 4 sets of these for the price of one Corsa system. it says 100% guarantee. IM not sure what that means, other than if you are not happy send them back, but who will pay.,? " You can't tell by the look if these are DNA or Corsa " ???? Problem with that statement is it fall right into the Chinese Knock off criteria. Dont care about the quality since these cheap Chinese product do not have any quality control.

You can not tell what is actually inside those mufflers. Since I know for a fact that during our research at GM, these Chines knock off companies do not have any Quality Control since QC is 1/3 of the manufacturing cost. Its the reason they can sell them so cheap. >>>> But<<<<<< for 360 dollars you may want to try them. You may love them and save a lot of money..

The other thing that red flags this is the guy who said his system is looking alittle old... My 19 year old Corsa system looks as good as the day I bought it... Now that comment may have been a joke...>>>>>> BUT <<<<<< for me, I learned a long time ago that I can not afford to buy anything too cheap.. it just cost too much money in the end... when you sell them and lose 200 dollars and buy what you should have bought in the first place. but when you add the 200 dollars you lost to the price of the product you should have bought you paid 200 dollars more than you should have.. Not considering the cost to install the cost to sell and all the grief.. But if they work.. you will save a considerable amount of money.. I just dont trust anything too cheap, Personally, I know better and would never consider these.

Just my opinion

They polish up. But I live in the rust belt and these mufflers have 75k miles on them. They sound great. No drone

Sometimes things are worth the $ other times the less expensive alternative is too much bang for buck to ignore.

You said yourself you have no idea what is in these. You're just making an assumption based on whatever.

I'm not new to this stuff. I've been buying selling modding and building vehicles for decades. The bang for buck out if this system is fantastic.

Theres threads on these dating way back. They're not new. They're proven as a decent option.

Alright. Headed down to the garage. Have to set up some gears in the old cj.

ET has some very strong opinions and he is not afraid to share them. I know a lot of people that run these eBay systems with no problems whatsoever and swear by them. It’s tough to justify a $1500+ corsa system on a car worth $10k or so. I picked mine up used and saved a ton. Otherwise I would have gone this route. These systems look like a great bang for the buck and as long as it puts a smile on your face that’s all that matters! Don’t let others price shame you for your decisions. 🤜🏻🤛🏻

I think you talked me into it. I cant justify spending 1500 on something just like these. Just glad i found someone who has them and likes them.
