caliper color for a dark green Vette!
I would like to get the opinions from those who have done this already, what color should I use for the brake calipers on a Dark Bowling Green Metallic convertible with the factory polished wagon wheels? Also, which brand of "paint" would you recommend? I have heard great things about G2, but aren't familiar of any others. Lastly, any tips on sprucing up the brakes themselves: as in what is a favorite slotted brake rotor set-up for you all? Your help is much appreciated!!
They are currently the stock grey, and in need of some attention!

Hi,
mine are red and I wish they'd be gray on my navy blue. Why not a dark green like the car? The dark green look so classy, depends what you are looking for.
FYI the wheels on the pictures are not the "wagon", I'm not sure which name they have though, thin spoke aluminum polished maybe.
good luck.

FYI those aren't wagon wheels. They're later style 'thin spokes.'
Dupli Color makes a Medium Green Metallic aersol that would probably look very good with that car. It's the brand I used on my car (Nassau Blue) and it's held up for five years. The way I did it was scrub and prep the face and bracket of the caliper, mask everything really well including the car obviously, and then lay down the coats. I think I used a good seven coats of color. For the lettering as long as you left it bare it'll flake off with sandpaper.
I wouldn't go too crazy with brakes if all you do is drive your car around town and on trips. If you want to make the rotors look better remove them and spray the outer vents and rotor hat gloss black; yu don't have to mask anything if they're off the car. The first dozen or so times you apply the brakes it'll knock off all the excess paint (you have to be careful as the brakes will be a little iffy until it all comes off), leaving the outer vents and rotor hat black. Then I'd also change out the fluid if you have never done so. Brake fluid breaks down with use and draws in moisture.

Two schools of thought here. A contrasting color or a not in your face stealth look.. Calipers from all types of performance cars are usually red or a mustard yellow. A stealth look would be your cars color, a contrast might be your car's interior, then there are red, black, yellow, silver.
Any will work for everyone else, but its your car and its you who have to see it every day.

Thank you all for letting me know these aren't wagon wheels; I learn something new here every day! I like the idea of the green matching calipers!! G2 does custom colors, so that's an intriguing option.
Yellow is a neat and bold choice, but there isn't anything else yellow on the car (?)
I was wondering if a dark red might work, as it's more subdued than the usual torch red

these could be a cheap option to try. I know someone who has them, not sure where he got them

With good light (morning or evening low sun), calipers visible, take a side picture of the car, then work the color of the calipers in photoshop or any image software....you will see how it looks, it may help you in the choice.

too many colors are just too many.. Ive taken a look at your car, and I would recommend a tan color. It would compliment your top.

Whatever you do, I would suggest against the caliper covers mentioned. They are expensive and appear cheap IMO.

Gixxerman, those look great! Now I have something to really visualize. That green option is really growing on me, as I like the combo of the polished metal against it. Many thanks!!

I would go with green, maybe black.
