The BCM is programmed for each individual car. You'll need to find one from a early C-5 (pre 2001) that fits your car (coupe, vert, Z06) and have someone that can program it to your car's features. Dealerships can do this, and a few others that have access to the correct device.

Jerry, I don't think the '01 part will work on your car based on the advice Phanni provides. Phanni advised you:

If I read your post correctly, you have a 1998 Corvette and the 2001 Corvette part you found will not be compatible with your older Corvette.

If I read your post correctly, you have a 1998 Corvette and the 2001 Corvette part you found will not be compatible with your older Corvette.

C5 bcm.
Thanks I called the dealership and the 97 and 98 C5 BCM will only work in those years. The later c5s bcms 01 to 04s r interchangeable I don't know what happened to the 2000s nothing listed.
