The C5 is still one heck of a good looking car.

I have a video from October 2005 with a lot of C5 action. At the time I was into Ford Lightnings and our club along with a corvette club rented Milan Dragway in SE Michigan.
Most of this video was not taken by me so sorry for the poor quality.
The Silver lightning is me and I was running 12.5 - 12.4 on a 100 shot and in full street trim. (on slicks it would run 11.8's). On those all season tires I had to launch at 1100 rpms, roll to the floor slowly and then ramp the nitrous up from 30hp to 100hp over a 0.7sec timeframe. (I had a very high quality progressive system). It's funny.. It didn't look strong off the line but the power would come as I increased speed and I could pull past anything on regular street tires.
Most C5's at the time could pull me of the line by 2-3 car lengths but then I'd reel them in and we'd have a pretty good race.
What left a massive impression on me was in 2003 I was running 12.8's w/o nitrous and on slicks. At mid-michigan I once ran a Z06. I took him off the line hard and won. BUT... just a hair after we crossed the line he went by me so fast it surprised me. I knew that those things had power and were FAST. That's always left an impression on me and is in part why I have a C5 Z06 now.
