I am looking at a 99 vert in Miami. The carfax is clean but there appear to have been five or six owners. Car was brought in from Canada into Michigan. Is this any reason in and of itself to be concerned? 53000 mi. Price seems too good to be true at 9500.00.. Any feedback is helpful as this is my first Corvette purchase. Here is a link to the ad https://blinker.com/cars/listing/226...campaign=miami
GM sold tons of convertibles. $9500 for a 99 is certainly not too good to be true.
Looks clean. 5 owners over 20 years seems ok to me. Where in Canada was it? And when? Some provinces have looser accident reporting rules (cough Quebec)
A 9,500 dollar convertible with 50,000 miles in Miami? I'd be suspicious. Not saying it isn't woth a look...but I wouldnt touch it without letting a person knowledgeable with C5s crawl all over it.
The Ontario by way of Michigan would make me nervous. If the car was winter driven without proper care, there might be some insidious corrosion issues.

It was registered in Ontario and had 13000 on the clock when it was brought to the U.S. in 2000.
Ask the seller if you can take the car to a local reputable auto repair shop for a Used Vehicle Inspection. For around $150 you will get a written report of the condition of the car. The shop should also priortize any repair work; what's needed immediately, what should be done soon and what can wait.. Do you have to go thru any emissions testing to get the car registered? The inspection will show any problems that are emissions related.
The ad says "newer tires"; Check the date codes on the tires. If they are over 6 years old, it may be wise to replace them. Look for any cracks in the tread or sidewall or any dry-rot.
Being from Canada should not be any different from any Corvette from someonein the northern states. You drive them til the weather gets cold and then hibernation till spring. Remember, in Detroit we go south to get into Ontario
Thanks for all your help. Here is an interesting update. I attempted to contact the seller (in Florida) three times over two different methods and received no response. The car was listed on the Blinker App and picked by cars.com. The next day, I found the same set of photos and description on car gurus. This listing said the car was in Illinois listed by a different seller. The photos are full of palm trees tropical plants. Looks like one or both of the ads are a fraud. Thanks again for all of your quick feedback. The search continues!
