I'm getting ready to buy some new wheels for my '98 and am having trouble finding the factory OEM offset measurements. I've gone onto at least 5 different wheel vendor web sites and each has different offsets for the front and rear wheels. I don't know how critical the offset number is, but I'd like to replace my wheels with the correct OEM size.
I've seen 56mm, 58mm, 54mm, and on and on for the fronts, and 58, 61, 64, and on and on for the rears. Where can I find a definitive chart indicating correct OEM factory offset numbers for my car? And if the offsets are off by say, 2-4 mm, is this critical? I'd really just like to have the correct factory numbers... The last ones I found were from Mid America works and they were 17x8.5 front - 56mm offset - 18x9.5 rear - 61mm. TIA
BTW, posted this on the wheel forum but didn't get any replies...
17x8.5 fronts are 56mm. 18x9.5 rears are usually 64mm, but some are listed as 61, 63, and 65mm. It may vary depending on the OEM wheel model (wagon wheels, magnesiums, etc.)
No, a 2-4mm variance is not critical, especially on such narrow sizes.

The differences are negligible. 3mm is only 1/8 of an inch, for example. That means the wheel would sit 1/8” further in or out from stock, if for example you got a 59mm offset vs 56 or something.

Thanks for posting, great info! Are there any matching sets of 18" front & 18" rear rims without using rear wheels on the front for a C5/C6?
The car doesn't care whether the wheels are front or rear, all they care about is the correct width and offset. You could run these as a square set-up or a combo. What's the intended usage? 18" × 9.5" +57 97-04 rear, 05-13 front 18" × 10.5" +58 01-04 Z06 rear

Sorry for any confusion, when I said “matching” I was referring to style not size. I want a narrower 18” wheel with less offset in the front and a wider 18”’ wheel with more offset in the rear. I have a bunch of 18” take-off tires I’d like to use up trying out drifting at the local track.

Oops! I forgot that C5/C6 cars have different front & rear sizes for traction control. It’s my first late model Corvette and my own car has all that stuff removed. Never mind and sorry for the hijack.
