This is what I did.
1. If you have run flats, replace them with non run flats. Most noise reduction step.
2. If you have a Vert (My C5) put a trunk partition in.
3. Put in a rubber floor mat in the trunk area.
This reduced the road noise about 75% without dismantling anything.
I have a convertible.I installed a partition in the trunk area, removed the factory carpeted liner in the rear of the car and installed a material similar to dynamite, than put back the factory liner.Installed the sound deadner behind the seats and under the wall. Just pull back the carpet. This material has an adhesive backing. Then I removed the rear inner wheel wells and lined them with the sound deadner, that’s where a lot of road noise is coming from. You are going to have to remove the wheels to get too the screws that hold the inner wheel wells on. Then I installed a carpeted floor mat in the rear trunk area. This is a tedious project but worth it. The reduction in Road noise is very noticeable.
I did insulation in the full interior. Then added RAAMat and their ensolite foam. Did the door interior and surface. Also went a step further and put small strips of their bxt inside all plastic parts. Inside the rear wheel wells behind the covers. And cut tiny strips of ensolite for anywhere that panels met. The car sounds solid. Also a few decibels quieter now.
