I’m am the third owner of a 03 coupe and I’m wondering if there is any way to tell if the “anti-theft” security has been activated on my radio prior to removal. I have the original factory owner packet but I found no reference to a specific security code, heck I’m not even sure how many numerals there are in a radio theft code. I plan on hooking up a Isimple cd adapter to the back of the radio and I’m certain it will lose power at some point. Trying to see in advance if after I install this adapter I’ll be off the the local “STEALER” to have my radio code reset, at cost of $100+ . So if anyone has any advice I’m certainly listening. Thanks for your time and input. Bob

Bob - the factory radio, when the Theft Loc feature is activated, has a red LED right by the volume button that flashes when you turn off the car. If that LED is not flashing, you should be OK disconnecting the power and then reconnecting power.
The owner’s manual discusses this feature and has the procedure for setting the code if it has not been set before. If it has been set by a previous owner, the above procedure has been used to clear a locked radio. And if I recall correctly, the security code is a four digit number.
.Thats great news, I appreciate your help, The red security light is off so this should be a pretty straight forward procedure. Thanks everyone for the help, I’d be lost without the forum !
