In the process of getting new leather seat covers, foam, etc, shampoo carpets and decided to put in dynamat in the cabin. The area where my right knee rests when driving gets verry hot. I must say, the dynamat has reduced that heat dramatically. I would recommend this to anyone. Road noise and heat decreased significantly. More than I expected. I left one small area uncovere and drove for about a half hour. It was so hot I couldn’t touch it. Area with the dynamat was surprisingly cool.

I much prefer the look of a console in place but to each his own.

Great work, STRMLNE. I'm regretting not doing the same when I had the console off last.

Currently I have my console removed for some interior repairs. On eBay I see Dynamat sold in 4 square foot packages. How much material did you need to cover your tunnel?

I can't remember exactly what it took for the tunnel. Sorry! But I used two of these for about 90% of the cabin. Just ran out for part of the floor boards.

I had the same problem with my right knee resting against the console. There was a product that I got about 10 years ago for that. It is a thick piece of foam about an inch thick that is triangular shaped that sticks on the side of the console with double sided tape where your knee rests. It works great. Maybe if you do a search you can find it.

Adding the insulation/noise reduction material is a very good mod. Makes driving the car much more pleasureable.

I would guess so the cabin is more comfortable for daily use . . not the track where weight can be important.

It's barely 15lbs of material. I bet 9/10 owners are carrying way more extra weight around their waist.

Small price to pay for comfort.

Lol. There’s always one of you on every thread. I probably weigh 50 lbs less than you, so it all evens out. regardless, this 10-15 lbs of “extra weight” isn’t resulting in much performance loss on my routine drives for coffee and dinner but it sure does keep the cabin cool and quiet. Lol.
