New C5 owner here so I'm reading and trying to lean as much as I can on the site. I would like to make some ride height adjustments using the stock bolts. Not sure how low I want to go, it may depend upon my driveway. Will I need a good 4-wheel alignment once I'm done? I may also do the C6 shock upgrade a few months from now. The shocks should have nothing to do with the alignment - correct? - - Thanks John
Yes and potentially yes. You should align after all the suspension work is done but if you use the zip-tie method, changing shocks shouldn’t move you out of current alignment significantly. Still, I would do everything at once and align afterward. I lowered and replaced as you did and will get alignment in coming months but car is OK for now.
Lowering on stock bolts should not change alignment specs. If you cut the bushings, allowing you to go past the lowest setting allowed on the factory bushings, then yes, you may need a re-alignment.
It will change things.
You really need to get it aligned. If you don't it could start throwing codes about steering yaw. I know because it happened to me.
Good luck!
