I think the biggest problems I may encounter on the road are best resolved through the appropriate application of throttle, or the egregious application of braking, and often combined with the delicate manipulation of the steering wheel.

If I have to resort to harsher methods, well, I am one of those "naturals" and a little P365 with some hydra-shok resolves a lot!

Whipitnow - since you like to drive slow, don’t care about electronic gadgets or modern day vehicle technology ... maybe you would be better suited to trade your C5 for a C3 , like a 1978 model when all of the government restrictions kept the performance low and the speedometer stopped at 85 mph.

I bought one of these cars for the looks, it really pisses me off I can't find tires that will fill the wheel wells. I can deal with all the electronics but would prefer if they were not there....

I have a 99 coupe which did not come with HUD. I was able to retro-fit it about 6 years ago and love it.

I also just bought an 03 Z06 equipped with HUD and I noticed one difference immediately: the Z hud appears larger, or is slightly "zoomed" by comparison.

I wondered to myself if the Z windshield had a layer which magnified it, since it is an actual HUD windshield, but that cannot be or everything in that area would appear larger.

I also see a LOT more reflection of the HUD housing on the windshield in the Z when in the sun.

Did someone make a zoom plate or something? Now I need to go look at the dash when I get home tomorrow and check.

Anyway - I thought this was weird. And I have to say... I MUCH prefer the HUD in my 99. The Z is apart right now or I'd light it up and do some comparison pics. When I get it back together I will follow through on that idea.
I have noticed exactly the same thing with my two cars.. a '99 coupe and an '03 Z06. They both have their original windshields and the 99's definitely looks better. The Z06's display seems a little larger, not as clean looking, and even a little tilted compared to the 99. I've had my wife look at them and she thinks I'm crazy
I think it has to be the difference in the windshields, all the HUD's have to be the same.

What has that got to do with HUD?

OK, I'm curious... Does your car have it or not?

I think the better question is, does this fellow even own a C5?

Yes, I own a C5. I was a to the first to discover HUD could be retrofitted to any year without changing to an approved year cluster or having to get your odometer reset with said cluster by gm. Search my name here and use the HUD term and it will pop up.

And it sounds like I've got one above who has seen the same between his cars. Now I will make a point of putting the battery back in the Z to try to get comparison shots this weekend.

No question that you own a C5 (the question arose in connection with another member's posts).

I haven't been there since 94 Snow Birds, I love that track.

With Raging Bull there it would be sold out with standing room only....

Well let's just say I have a lot of runs down motorsports park along with the the old Desoto track and would like nothing more than to run against this most perfect C5 you found. At least we know there will be pictures of it then too.

I am left to wonder how this post got hijacked and is full of trash now. Did we become the Mustang board? Or are C5s so old/cheap now that a lot of kids are in here? I miss the VCA Viper forum!

I think I'll just have to start a fresh post when I get pics, so it doesn't deviate.
