Hydrographics- Water transfer printing that produces “carbon fiber” pattern on items or any other finish you choose. Looks cheap, no depth in finish, and is easily spotted as “fake” carbon.
Carbon Fiber Overlay/Lamination- Name is exactly what it is, take a product or part and prep it to be over layed with genuine carbon fiber fabric. This produces the same finish on the outside as regular carbon fiber however it’s not an actual true carbon fiber structured part.
True Carbon Fiber- Usually produced out of an original mold or model to be manufactured as a carbon piece. The part itself is genuinely carbon fiber structured all around. Light, rigid, fire and corrosion resistant. Oh and of course an outer finish that’s easily detected as genuine carbon fiber.
Be sure to do your homework on an advertised product being sold as “carbon fiber” before getting rolled.
