It's past time for new rotors and breaks for my 2004 C5. Any suggestions as to what brand rotors and pads and where to get them. This car is just a weekend fun car, no track time.
I just put on a set of brakemotive rotors and pads. I am very happy with them. I do not do any track but will have to see how they hold up when I hit the Dragon again later this year.
I just picked up the Stoptech K1560 set up on eBay for $275. I've been impressed with the Centric rotors and pads on my Accord, so I opted to stay with them. The price difference does make it tempting, but the Stoptech pads are recommended over the Brakemotive pads on other threads I've seen and I already ordered them before I realized the Brakemotives had dropped that low.
I'll add R1 Concepts. Just installed 4 drilled and slotted rotors, 4 sets of ceramic pads, hardware and shipping for $257.00. They are coated to prevent rust. They fit good, look great and work great. I do not use my car for competition....

i used Brakemotive they were good but the drilled and slotted rotors made a growling sound when i got on them kinda hard.not bad just noticeable. wore good and minimal brake dust.
Not overrated, just prefer something that will not crack with hard braking which I do a lot. However most c5 owners drive their cars at a minimal or seasonal.

Thats not me...
I had to shop pretty hard to come up with a set of solid rotors for my car; drilled and drilled and slotted seem to be all the rage. Unlike most folks, I actually prefer the OEM look. When I researched it, I came to the conclusion that there are many theories with all kinds of scientific arguments for one over the other. I'm not particularly hard on my car and I think that describes most Corvette owners. So for most owners, it likely boils down to the "look."
"It is the experience based opinion of every single brake expert I have consulted, that the loss of rotor mass due to drilling and slotting creates more brake loss than any possible gains due to degassing or faster cooling of the surface area. There is no better authority on hot rod brakes than Ralph Lisena at ECI. Ralph agrees that practical street driven vehicles rarely encounter the high heat conditions that make drilled or slotted rotors beneficial from a strictly functional stand point."
I drive my car reasonably hard. I would guess a good bit harder then average but without track duty. I have had nothing but positive things to say about the Brakemotive kit. I would buy it again in a heart beat.
Not to sound like a broken record but, they can't be beat for the price. I believe they do sell a plain rotor kit as well for those that don't like the cast holes and slots.

The KNS rotors will out last any other replacement 1 piece rotor on track.
