Default Clear coat?

C5, Tuxedo black. Was the original paint single stage, or base coat/clearcoat ?

Aso, was the acrylic top clear coated?

Almost positive it is base/clear. Don't know about the top but I doubt it is painted.

GM uses a base coat/clear coat on all of their vehicles. Pretty sure the acrylic top does not have a coating.

Fun fact... all Corvettes built in the Bowling Green plant have been Base Coat / Clear Coat. So the swap to base/clear was in 1981.

The clear top in clear coated. Don't use anything on the top that you wouldn't use on the painted surfaces.

Thanks. Thought so, but wanted confirmation. I knew the 95 I had was.
I have some crazing on the upper surfaces thanks to FL sun. Not the burn through like the 95v had though. Spent a lot of time wet sanding and polishing recently. Its much better, but I think I will need to shoot new clearcoat at a minimum if not repaint the hood and rear deck.

I use a polish that has UV protection. Zanio.
