Chipped windsheild repair
So I go to this nation wide auto glass company that advertises on tv . I had 3 chips in my glass.
1 week after getting my glass repaired I notice that one of those chips has now cracked in two places
They advertise a lifetime warranty so I go back and they tell me that once they put epoxy in the chip they cant do anything if it cracks out.
They will take the cost of repair off of the price of a new glass, and for a c 5 with hud they want 1720.00 for a windshield
When they prep for a repair they center punch the chip, grind it smooth and put epoxy in the chip. I dont think I will use this company again
$1700.00 seems high for a windshield, does it not?

I had a chip in my windshield. Safelite repaired it but repair looked as bad as before it was done. It didn't become clear and it was right in front of my eyes so when the sun hit it at the right angle it glowed. Very annoying. The windshield was replaced by insurance and the replacement cost was about $1,500. it's expensive because they have to replace the windshield trim and drip moulding. The HUD windshield Safelite installed was made by AP technoglass corporation in Ohio. Windshield looks pretty good to me. AP technaglass claims they are an OEM to GM for windshields.
