[Z06] Mallett Wheels Mounted

Mallett Wheels Mounted
Mallett Wheels mounted and ready to roll. Nitto Invo 265/295 tires. Road force balance all came out great- minimal number of black matching weights. Next up the Baer Eradispeed rotors with Carbotech brake pads- although no hurry as the Powerstops still like new. Just love the Baer’s. Plans are to drive and show this year and then maybe send off to Phoenix for a track build with a cage. Feel bad as this one is a perfect C5 Z06 example so we’ll see.

Just as an aside- the Goodyear Eagle F1’s weren’t horrible- they were probably a great tire new. But for some reason the GY’s don’t age well. These were only 6 years old and maybe 5000 miles- so still plenty of tread- but they just get real hard and are a little noisy with not as much grip as the new Nitto. The Invo was my second choice due to out of stock issues- but I’m really happy with them as a cruising road tire. No not great for the track and OK for autocross but not an issue with this set- I believe all season is no season- so same with tired. Track or road - dual purpose doesn’t really work well.

The Black Mallett Wheels look great on your Red Z06.

Thanks. Yes the ride is somewhat better- the Nitto’s really stick in the corners compared to the GY’s- the GY’s weren’t horrible just not great.
The ride height is stock OEM- I may drop on stock bolts but have a drive way transition to traverse so we’ll see. I’ll probably see how it works half way down before I get the alignment done.
Thanks for the comments.

Something looks off on the rear. Did you drop to 17" wheels on all four corners instead of the 18 rear 17 front setup? The ride height is off in the back. It could also be that you just lowered the car off the jack and it didn't settle yet?

Noticed the same. Tires look small or the rear raised, something is off. Good looking wheels.

Inventory in 265/35R18 and 295/35R18 is difficult right now. First choice MPSS is being replaced by the Pilot Sport 4S as I was told but not available in 295 only 285 maximum in 18. Also wanted the Conti Extreme Contact Sport but the 295 rear was back ordered although it seems they have limited inventory today at Tirerack. Nitto Invo had to be ordered from the distributor and probably drop shipped from the manufacturer to the shop. Nitto seems to be the best option for a range of tire choices- NT01, NT05 and Invo. Most likely all the physical inventory is at the manufacturer in these sizes or may be the larger Nitto online distributors like Discount Tire Direct or Jegs. You also might try Strano Performance Parts a forum vendor- I have seen old threads where he talks about 18 inch tire options and maybe his inventory selection. Good luck.

Just off the jack when I took the picture. It’s settled now but still at the OEM ride height. I’ll lower half way on stock bolts to keep from scraping on my driveway and repost separately next week. Thanks

That makes sense. I think it looks good at stock height. C5's are so low stock it's hard to drive them on the street any lower. Mine at stock height scrapes on all kinds of crap just driving down normal roads.
