Any information will be helpful! Looking to buy my 1st vette just don’t know where to start. Budget is 12k and looking for a great starter vette and also an automatic. Living in Vegas so looking for some west cost options as well!
I'd start with the stickeys at the top of this forum. They will tell you everything you need to know before you buy your corvette. I just bought my second corvette, first C5, last year and I'm glad I did the research before I bought. There are things you need to know about the different years and potential problems.
There are a few of us, "enthusiasts" in the LV area. KITT (he's around Boulder City) and I, for sure. Would be glad to assist in being an "unbiased and objective" set of eyes as you narrow your sights on potentials. The C5 is an incredible car and considered the best "bang for the buck" Corvette. The LS platform is a go to performance engine. Note however, these cars do have their well known/documented issues (As mentioned read all the stickies. They are packed with invaluable information form the brothers and sisters on this site.). As long as you can accept that and are prepared to do a little work/spend some $, all will be good.
Finding a nice C5 for under $13k will not be a problem. There are a few out on CL right now.
Do you have any friends selling? I’ll look at the stickeys today at work when I can! Love the area out here and hopefully can find a good car to begin to work with! Thank you for the information and I hope I am
on the right track with where I’m looking
Take your time on the search. This is a car you want not need. Trust your gut. If the deal doesn't feel right, walk away. When you find "the one" you will know it.
I looked at over 30 Vettes before I found mine. It had the most miles by far (167k) but was in the best condition. EVERYTHING worked and NOTHING was broken or missing.
