Default How important is this shield?
I just realized I forgot to put this shield thing back on, from last year after doing work on car.

Is it to protect battery from engine heat, or is it just to make engine compartment look nice?

I'm putting it back either way, just wondering what the purpose is.

keep the heat from the batt, I would have it on !!!

Heat will shorten battery life. As others have said..... put it back on.

If it wasn't necessary it would not be there... On a scale of 1 to 10 its importance would be 7 or 8.
