Default finally got a garage

For the last couple years, both my C5 and my DD have been kept outdoors. I used a car cover on vette, but it ended up being a PITA because it wouldn't stay put on windy days. I had to use all sorts of apparatus to hold the cover in place, including the cable and lock that I bought with the cover, plus 6 bricks, 2 gallon-size jugs filled with water (or ice, depending on the temperature outside), 4 short bungee cords, and 2 spring clamps. Going out for a drive meant removing all that crap, and then I had to put it all back together when I got back, including fishing the cable back under the car. What fun!

Thankfully, those days are over now. I've moved to a house with a garage, and it's going to be a LOT easier to get out for a drive.

Woo-hoo!

I dont think I could live without a garage. Looks like you have a nice size one now. Congrats on the new place.

Yes, it's a great thing having a proper garage. It's even nicer just having the everyday convenience of driving in and you're already in the house. No doors to unlock, no screwing around, no cars outdoors always dirty, just bliss! Only those of us who've had it both ways understand the joy of finally having everything indoors.

Congrats on the new house!

(I'm considering a new house myself. My current garage is only 1730 sq ft and I need a bigger one!).

And a lot easier to do mod, maintenance, and cleaning stuff! And it's ALWAYS fun to just go in the garage and admire it's beauty

Thanks, everyone. After I finish moving, I'll be looking to make a few small improvements to the garage, nothing major.

Decide if you want to stain/paint/epoxy or tile the garage floor BEFORE you start moving.
Then comes the lift, TV, stereo, mini fridge, mini bar, automotive related decorations, welcome to the crazy, fun madness

You’ll love the convenience a garage gives. Congrats and your cars will last a lot longer, at least appearance wise.

The desert winds in my somewhat covered Carport can sometimes reach huge strength..I've learned a simple Loop Tie technique that keeps my cover on, even with big gusts, one quick tie on the front, one on the back..Goes on off in a few seconds, holds tight.

But hey I am seriously jealous of that beautiful garage.

Congrats on the garage/home. I bought my first corvette when I got my first garage. For 11 years I had a gravel driveway so no nice cars allowed. Now I'm back on pavement!

You always need more garage space. When we built our current house, we went for a 3 bay (big doors) garage. It's 34' x 26'. It actually needs another bay, as one gets taken up with yard stuff, etc. Probably need to buy a utility building for all that stuff.
