Got the Z up to 140 for the first time. About a minute after i slowed to 90, I had a trooper on my bumper.
\"I clocked you at 88 before i turned around. Then i clocked you at 92. Were you aware of your speed?" "Umm.. would you believe me if i said no?" "*laughs* Probably not. License and insurance."
$260 later and I'm thankful he didnt catch me over Keystone dam 😂
Yea, you should add him to your Christmas list, I'm willing to bet he knows about the 140 but being a nice guy and not wanting to cause you horrible grief, knocked it down to 88/92
Yah,yah,yah...just when it felt right it wasn’t! I get that 6th sense going. The other day I’m accelerating at the freeway on ramp and reach speed limit very quickly and am (split second) thinking really kick it and went no I shouldn’t and look to my left to see a police car right next to me.
In Arizona, 20 over is a ticket to jail...plus a big fine. I've been asked several times if I wanted him to take me to jail. I always say no. Haven't gone yet. But I've definitely donated to my local government a few times. After a while you learn the usual trap spots and you have to be on your toes all the time. But the law of averages will catch you out occasionally. It mostly happens on my Sport Bike though....it's way to easy to go fast on it.
It's a bummer anytime you get caught though. As long as you're not being a total squid, it's hard to feel like you did something wrong....just having a little fun.

I would gladly take that $260 ticket and be on my way compared to what it could have been, it seems like you feel the same way unlike those annoying people that try to play the victim
Having written numerous traffic tickets during my LE career, I can tell you all that mostly, the first words out of your mouth decide whether you get a ticket or not... About 50% of those stopped for a violation got a pass. Some, unfortunately, I had no choice... Most drivers don't have $250.00 -$300.00 to come up with unexpectantly so I would cut them a break.
bc6152- Thanks for the insight from your LE career. Based on your description, I guess when you get stopped for a traffic violation, the officer is pretty much the Judge and Jury right on the spot???

Like I said, sometimes the officer has no choice. Other than that it is completely up to the PO that stops you whether you get cited or not. Smart asses, loudmouths, curbside lawyers usually drove away with a ticket... Having sports cars and Corvettes most of my life I was very sympathetic...
