Default My C5 got hit

I got backed into at the gas station when I was at a dead stop this past Saturday. I’ve already contracted the other individuals insurance company and I have two witnesses to the accident. The panel is repairable but I’m thinking I might be able to pick up a used silver left quarter panel somewhere, any ideas where I might find one just in case insurance company is looking for one? Thanks all.

Sorry about the photo being so large.

The truck that said he couldn't see me, with a backup camera?

Seize the opportunity to go wide body.

For what the insurance will pay to repair/replace the one quarter panel, you'd be WELL on your way to a set of flared panels.

X2 on Vettenuts for the OEM panel.
Sorry that happened to you. Too many people not paying attention and distracted now days.
Not having a backup camera is a lame excuse. That’s why all vehicles are required to have mirrors.
Best wishes for your repairs and the insurance claim.

That's a bummer. At least you know who did it.

Think for the advice all, yeah the wheel got scuffed also. I'll try Vettenuts.

As for going wide body I have thought about it but my C5 is still mostly stock, lust a bunch of bolt ons fir now. Plus & I'd need to get new wheels & tires, more money than I care spend right since I just had the clutch replaced.

If Vettenuts doesn't have one, call John Llewellyn (865-604-0498) I think he just salvaged a silver vert. These are easy replacements. John left for Indy (Bloomington) today, but that is his cell #.

Isn't it sad that so many C5s get backed into by SUVs and trucks?

.... Wow... a truck backing into a stationary Corvette. Sad to say, that has happened to me TWICE. First guy was apologetic. Second guy said it was my fault for having such a small car. He was pretty close to swallowing his own teeth that day. (If you drive a land barge of a truck, YOU need to be extra careful and responsible).

Sorry that happened. Such a pain. But, yeah, like others have said, maybe now is a good time to go wide body or something else to make it worth your hassle.

Nobody gives a crap in todays world.People texting and driving, folks in SUV's in a hurry and red necks in jacked up trucks. I am to the point that i only drive the Z06 on days when traffic is light like Saturday evening or Sunday. Rarely do i leave it in a parking lot for more than a few minutes and always look for an isolated spot. Even that is risky given the idiots out there.Too many people in this country have a drivers license that should not.
