Default TOW Points

I would like to add front and rear tow points to the C5, Several reasons from securing the car on the trailer to Auto X and the occasional Track Day, and I think they look cool, but I'm not finding much. I know there are a few of you guys who have done this and have some good suggestions for me.

Here is a link to one-

In my case, I would use the rear stabilizer bar if necessary for the rear. I built a custom one for the front that attaches to the skid bar bolts, the hook itself is removable.

I'm using these.

I bought these hooks because the mounting design seems better than the other available hooks for the C5.

Yea, too bad for those of us with a Vararam intake that uses those grills. I don't think it would be possible to use a tow hook that comes out there anymore... I need to find a solution too.

we use the wheel tie downs in our trailer, I feel it's better to let the suspension float instead of tying it down with toe hooks or such ???? my 2 cents !!

I'll use the wheels as well but may still need to get the car on the trailer, or off the track.

I didn't comment on the tow hooks because we Auto X a C 6 Z06 and the setup is way different than a C 5 !!! (have installed this hook on the rear of our C 5, https://www.ebay.com/itm/VMS-97-04-C...wAAMXQQANREBdH)

I've never looked under my C5 for tow points, but for my Mustang race car, I use the factory holes in the frame for securing it for trailering, both on my open trailer, and in my toy hauler. That's what the factory uses to secure cars for transport. My Mustang Race car has tow hooks to get me off track if needed, but they are NOT designed with the strength to tie down on the trailer.

For a C5, I would suggest over the wheel straps, unless our cars have proper holes for these, which I use for my Mustang and Lincoln. I bought a few sets of these, cut off the ones I don't need, and have them secured to the ends of my ratchet straps. That way I have the exact same tie down "strategy" each and every time.
